Bangladeshi Prostitutes Buy Graveyard5 Dec 2007
How a group of prostitutes in the port of Mongla have bought their own graveyard

Bangladeshi sex workers do not usually have a proper burial โ€“ they are thrown into the river or buried in muddy islands. These islands, or chars, are formed from a build up of soil and silt, but as the islands break down the bodies of the women just float away. But a group of prostitutes in the sea port of Mongla have clubbed together to buy their own graveyard, as reporter Siobhann Tighe discovers.
