Controversy over the annulment of a marriage because bride was not a virgin

The French Justice Minister Rachida Dati has hit the headlines for supporting the annulment of a young Muslim couple’s marriage because the bride was not a virgin. The story has caused outrage in France, forcing her to reverse the decision. Jenni discusses whether the enormity of the backlash against the annulment has been justified with political journalist Anne-Elisabeth Moutet and Nacira Guenif Souilamas, Associate Professor at University Paris 13.
