Riyadh's women-only hotel

Women in Saudi Arabia lead very restricted lives. They can't vote or drive, they have to be completely covered outdoors and travel abroad is only possible with the permission of a male guardian. Work opportunities are limited and until recently it wasn't possible for a woman to check into a hotel without a man at her side. But a new hotel, The Luthan, has just opened which is for women only. Felicity Finch went to Riyadh to see how it will work.

'Ladies of Leisure', Felicity Finch's investigation into the position facing women in Saudi Arabia, and the opening of the first woman-only hotel, is broadcast Friday 8th May on Radio 4 at 11.00am
