ChintzMonday 28 April 2003
We've been urged to chuck it out, but for many of us Chintz, with its large over blown roses, blooming peonies and swags of bouquets is the quintessential English fabric.

But as Corinne Julius discovered when she met Rosemary Krill, Senior Curator of Indian textiles at the V&A, our beloved furnishing fabric is not exactly what it seems.
Chintz Yatra: An exhibition of English Chintz and its Place in the Victorian Interior, at Brodsworth Hall near Doncaster until 26 October 2003. Tuesday-Sunday 1pm-6pm daily.
Donations and further information: The Warner Archive, Tilbrook distribution Ltd, Bradbourne Drive, Tilbrook, Milton Keynes MK7 8BE

V & A: Chintz
