Trupti PatelThursday 12 June 2003
At Reading Crown Court yesterday Trupti Patel was cleared of murder. She was accused of suffocating three of her babies and disguising the killings as cot deaths. The jury took only 90 minutes to reach a not guilty verdict. Her case came only months after the acquittal on appeal of Sally Clark. She served nearly 4 years in prison after her conviction for killing two of her baby sons.

Michael Patton, Professor of Medical Genetics at St George's Medical School in London and Chris Cloke, Head of Child Protection Awareness for the NSPCC join Jenni to discuss.
