Teresa Daniels was arrested at Gran Canaria airport when her travelling companion was found to be carrying 4 kilos of cocaine.
He told the authorities she had nothing to do with it but she found herself on trial alongside him and received a ten year sentence after a trial in Spanish which lasted an hour and a half. She is now fighting extradition back to Spain and campaigners here say her case serves as a warning against the government's plans to relax extradition laws within the EU.
