Government backed research published earlier this year suggested that the speaking and listening skills of young children has fallen so much that many start school unable to recite or sing even the simplest nursery rhymes.

Julia Jones, Birmingham's Head of Nursery and Primary and Penelope Leech join Jenni to discuss why this matters and what can be done about it.
