Forgotten Summer VegetablesMonday 7 July 2003
Ideas for unusual salads come in very handy at this time of year when you want something cool, but appetising.

We continue our series of Forgotten Summer Fruit and Veg, with cookery writer Sybil Kapoor and Fred Foster, of Turnips.
They introduce Anna McNamee to an unusual part of a common vegetable. It's something some of you may have fed to a rabbit but have probably never eaten yourself.
Sybil's recipe for Peashoot, Bacon and Quail Egg Salad
