Conductor Marin Alsop
Marin Alsop is the first female principal conductor of an orchestra in Britain - the Bournemouth Symphony - had has just won the classical world's equivalent of the Oscars. Readers of Gramophone magazine have voted her Artist of the Year.

A native New Yorker, she's just recorded a CD of music by her old tutor Leonard Bernstein including dance themes from On The Town and joins Martha to talk about her love of music.
