'Round Midnight

Available for 14 days

‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades. This week Soweto is joined by one-to-watch trumpeter Poppy Daniels. A core part of London’s jazz community, Poppy has worked with artists including Blue Lab Beats, Daniel Casimir, Celeste, and Jordan Rakei. She is now stepping out as a solo artist, drawing influences from jazz, hip hop and Latin music traditions into her unique sound. From Monday to Thursday this week, Poppy will be highlighting some of the artists who are “living legends” that she is influenced by, for Flowers. Tonight Poppy gives her first bouquet to an American trumpeter widely celebrated for his musical inventiveness. Plus there’s music from Ellen Beth Abdi, Valaida Snow, and Alexander Hawkins.
