Journeys In SoundAvailable for 6 days
Sampa The Great, the Zambian singer, rapper and performer, shares the pivotal moments that have made her the artist she is today. Talking to Nemone, who combines her roles of DJ and qualified psychotherapist, Sampa dives deep to share her story and the songs that have moved her, with tracks from Missy Elliot, Angélique Kidjo and WITCH. Sampa reflects on her musical journey and in doing so opens up about her struggles with believing in herself, the power it took to commit to life as an artist, and the importance of musical role models growing up. She also talks about her upcoming self-titled album, how her relationship with uncle and Zamrock pioneer, George Kunda, inspired it, and the journey they’ve both been on to get there. In this series Nemone also talks in depth to musicians Haai and Beverly & Elizabeth Glenn-Copeland and Bob Mould.
