Matt Everitt sits down with musician, multi‑instrumentalist, singer and producer Jordan Rakei. Matt and Jordan trace his journey from childhood in Hamilton, New Zealand, to Brisbane, Australia, and eventually to London. Jordan reflects on early experiments making up songs as a kid, producing beats at school, and releasing tracks online — culminating in his self‑released debut EP, Franklin’s Room, in 2013. The conversation follows his evolution through albums Cloak, Wallflower, and his most recent project, The Loop, shaped deeply by his experiences as a new parent. Along the way, Jordan shares stories, creative insights, and some of the music that has inspired him most — including Jeff Buckley, James Blake, Missy Elliott and Radiohead.
