Does Clara Schumann's Piano Trio in G minor reflect the composer's experience of miscarriage in 1846? During her fourteen-year marriage to Robert Schumann, Clara was pregnant ten times and gave birth to eight children. Sabina Dosani, consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist speaks to Dr Nicole Grimes Associate Professor in Music at Trinity College Dublin and Professor Annie Heiderscheit, Director of the Cambridge Institute for music therapy explains how women who have experienced pregnancy loss can find their grief embodied in music as they both listen and play.
