Helen Mark MBE presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine - this week alongside Rab Lennox, Jonnie Crawford and Willie Hill. This week – some incredible Ulster-Scots prose courtesy of the winner and runner up of the recent Linenhall Library writing competition. There’s also news of an event happening this week in Belfast to celebrate Charles Thomson – a Maghera native who rose to become moral compass during the American Revolution and is regarded as one of the most important figures of that era in US history. Meanwhile, Rab had a bonnie night of scran and music in Ballymoney – celebrating Burns night! As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email – helen.mark@bbc.co.uk
