Georgia Shackleton and Ciaran Ryan

Travelling Folk

Available for 26 days

Anna is joined by two guests with new albums coming out this month. Georgia Shackleton's From the Floorboards marks 125 years since her relative Sir Ernest Shackleton set sail on the RRS Discovery with Captain Scott. At the heart of the album is the Shackleton Violin, crafted by conservationist and luthier Steve Burnett from the floorboards of Shackleton’s former Edinburgh home. Georgia describes the album as a sonic voyage through history, sea and exploration. And known for his work with Dallahan, Shooglenifty and countless other collaborations, Ciaran Ryan marks a new chapter in his career with the launch of his third solo album, Kick Up the Dust. Entirely self-written, the album reflects a return to his Irish foundations - a deep reconnection with the tunes and traditions that first shaped his musical voice.
