National Theatre of Scotland is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The original premise was to make a theatre company without walls and with no building, keeping productions flexible and unconventional; and work has been performed in airports, schools, tower blocks, community halls, ferries and forests. In the past two decades, the company has created over 470 new productions, toured hundreds of venues and been seen over five continents. Artistic director and chief executive Jackie Wylie tells Len how the company is marking the milestone. Today is World Book Day, which is dedicated to fostering in children a love of reading for pleasure. Scottish author Sibeal Pounder discusses the new book she’s brought out in time for the day, a spin-off story from Roald Dahl’s original classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's available as one of the range of books available to children in exchange for a World Book Day token, typically given out by schools and nurseries. And Len chats to Ian Rattray, co-director of Frightfest, a three-day horror, thriller and fantasy film festival running this weekend at the Glasgow Film Theatre.
