DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensions… For Mother’s Day, Zakia is joined in the studio by the most special guest of all, one of her biggest musical influences and sources of inspiration - her mum, Amey. Amey brings in some of her favourite late-night tracks to play out from the likes of Peven Everett and Loose Ends, as well as giving us an update on what she’s been up to and dishing out some sage motherly advice. We also get to hear a bit of Balearic from 1991 that features the vocals of a very young Amey! Elsewhere, Zakia plays songs for every kind of mother out there, including tracks from Roberta Flack, Cleo Sol, Dennis Brown and Doc Hopkins. And of course, as always, there’s some brand new releases with music from waterbaby, Resavoir and Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness. We want to hear your dreams! Send in tales of your sleepy adventures to dreamtime@bbc.co.uk or text us on 03700 100 600. A Reduced Listening Production for BBC Radio 6 Music.
