A concert of masterpieces from three contrasting contemporaries of the last century forms the programme from the Sinfonia of London given as part of its residency at the Glasshouse in Gateshead, conducted by recent RPS Award winner John Wilson. The French pianist Alexandre Kantorow joins the orchestra for Prokofiev’s fiendishly virtuosic 3rd Piano Concerto, and the concert is bookended by musical portraits from Elgar and Richard Strauss.
