Afternoons

Available for 18 days

Len Pennie talks to writer Belle Jones and actor Karen Fishwick about Flora the Musical, which tells the story of Jacobite rebellion hero Flora MacDonald through Gaelic proverbs, verse, music and song. Samantha Dooey-Miles discusses the macabre concept behind her novel Under the Hammer, which is the Scottish Book Trust's book of the month, in which her protagonist Jemma decides to kill landlords after becoming obsessed with a daytime TV programme whilst facing her own financial difficulties. Len Pennie is joined by Kevin McLean, founder of the Loud Poets, to hear about their programme of events, getting out into the community, and supporting emerging poets, and what is needed to make poetry accessible and inclusive, ahead of World Poetry Day.
