Blas

Available for 24 days

Léireofar tionscadal ilmheánach ina bpléitear Béal Feirste tríd an phrós, an fhilíocht, an ghrianghrafadóireacht, an ealaín agus an ceol, mar chuid de sheó speisialta in Áras Mhic Reachtain i dtuaisceart na cathrach. Cluineann Dáithí an scéal ar fad ó léiritheoir an tionscadail Liam Carson, agus fosta ó chuid de na healaíontóirí a bhfuil baint acu leis. Tugann cartlann úr ar líne deis dúinn amharc ar nuachtríleanna cóirithe agus fotheidealaithe Amharc Éireann ó na 1950idí agus 60idí, taifead luachmhar ar stair shóisialta na tíre, agus tá an scéal ar fad dúinn ag Eve Nic an Phápa ó Gael Linn. Encompassing prose, poetry, photography, art and music, Waterfront City: The Belfast Project will celebrate the city in a forthcoming show at Áras Mhic Reachtain in North Belfast. Dáithí hears all about it from the curator Liam Carson, and from some of the artists involved. A new online archive offers the chance to watch restored and subtitled Amharc Éireann newsreels from the 1950s and 60s, a valuable snapshot of the social history of Ireland, and Eve Nic an Phapa from Gael Linn joins us to tell us more.
