President Donald Trump has threatened further strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island oil export hub and has urged allies to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking on NBC News, Mr Trump said the US strikes had “totally demolished” most of Kharg Island and warned that he may order further strikes. He said Tehran appeared ready to make a deal to end the conflict, but for him the terms were not good enough yet. Also in the programme: violent protests in Cuba; and we look ahead to the Oscars. Joining our presenter Julian Worricker to discuss these stories and more are Harmonie Toros, Professor in Politics and International Relations at the University of Reading, and Nadine White, a journalist and film-maker based in the UK. Nadine is editor of the Black Current News magazine.
