Former Australia pace bowler Peter Siddle has joined Notts Outlaws at the age of 41 for this year's T20 Blast campaign.

The decorated veteran returns to Trent Bridge for the shorter format of the game, 12 years after he played for Nottinghamshire in the County Championship.

He most recently featured in the English game for Durham in 2024, and also previously played for Somerset and Essex.

Siddle will be reunited with head coach Peter Moores at Notts, having played under the Englishman at the Melbourne Stars in Australia's Big Bash League.

"Over the years he's managed to simplify the game, and his wealth of experience will be really valuable for our bowling group," Moores told Notts' website., external

Siddle retired from international cricket in 2019, having taken 238 wickets in 89 appearances across all formats for his country.

Moores says the two years he spent working with Siddle at Melbourne convinced him to try get the pace bowler to "rekindle his association" with Notts.

"His whole approach to playing and training has allowed him to extend his career, and he's now bowling as well as he ever has," Moores added.

Siddle says he "felt great" during his most recent Big Bash campaign, having claimed 16 wickets at an average of 17 runs.

"It's been great to work with Peter Moores at the Stars over the last couple of seasons, so I'm excited to continue that link-up," he said.

Siddle be available for all of Notts' 12 T20 Blast group games, starting with their match against Yorkshire on 22 May, and will stay on for any potential knockout fixtures.
