Taylor makes strong start in Reno | | Defending champion Vaughn Taylor fired an eight-under par 64 to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the US PGA Reno-Tahoe Open. Taylor was in superb form with 10 birdies and holds a narrow advantage over compatriot Todd Fischer and Sweden's Fredrik Jacobson. He birdied three of the first four holes and four of the last six to complete his best round of the year. Britain's Justin Rose lies eight shots off the lead after a 72.
