| Witter made short work of his third-choice opponent | Junior Witter stopped Oscar Hall in the third round of a hastily arranged 10-round bout in Bradford. Witter was due for a defence of his European title, but original opponent Salvatore Battaglia withdrew suffering from gastroenteritis. And Hall was a late replacement for Gavin Down, who was ruled out by the British Boxing Board of Control. Witter dropped Hall with a right to the body in the opening round and the fight was halted two rounds later.
