Diaz defeats Perez in 66 seconds | | Former IBF lightweight champion Julio Diaz took just 66 seconds to stop Marco Angel Perez in their light welterweight bout in El Cajon, California. In his first fight since losing to WBC lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo, Diaz downed his opponent with a right uppercut to the chin. Perez fell to the canvas and, despite briefly getting to his feet, collapsed again and the fight was ended. The win takes Diaz's career record to 31-3 with 23 knockouts.
