Rees lines up November comeback
Gavin Rees
Rees is undefeated in 22 fights
Gavin Rees is set to return to the ring in November after a year-long ban from the British Boxing Board of Control.

The BBBC took action when the Newbridge fighter was punished in court for knocking out a mourner at a funeral.

The 25-year-old, trained by Enzo Calzaghe, has a record of 22-0 (12 KOs), although he has yet to be tested at a high standard.

Rees, whose last win was a points victory over Carl Allen in September 2004, has British title ambitions.

Shortly before his ban, Rees had established himself as the WBO number one super-featherweight contender.

He had been due to meet Mike Anchondo for the vacant WBO title, but weight problems ruled him out and he decided to campaign at lightweight.
