John retains featherweight crown | | Indonesian boxer Yohannes Christian John retained his WBA featherweight title after beating Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico in Jakarta. The three judges scored the fight 116-110, 117-111 and 116-112 in favour of John. Marquez was warned four times for low blows, which cost him points in the 10th and 11th rounds. John, who became world champion in December 2003, extended his record to 37-0-1 with 20 knockouts.
