Duddy wins to claim vacant title
John Duddy
John Duddy remains unbeaten after 16 professional fights
Derry's John Duddy claimed the vacant WBC Continental Americas middleweight championship with a first round knockout of Shelby Pudwill in New York.

The 26-year-old, chalking up the 14th knockout win of his 16-fight professional career, destroyed Pudwill in just one minute and 51 seconds.

Duddy floored Pudwill three times, forcing referee Wayne Kelley to call a halt to the scheduled 10-round bout.

"He's a great fighter, so it's a really great win for me," said Duddy.
