Wie's Masters bid comes to an end | Wie had been hoping to make history at Augusta | Michelle Wie's hopes of being invited to play in next year's US Masters have come to an end after she lost in the US Amateur Public Links championship. The 15-year-old was hoping to win it and so become the first woman invited to play in the Masters at Augusta, and had reached the matchplay round. But she was beaten 5 and 4 in the quarterfinal by Brigham Young University student Clay Ogden. He now faces Chile's Martin Ureta in Saturday's 36-hole final.
