O'Neill proved too strong in the Channel Island Golf Championships

Jersey's Gavin O'Neill and Alex Mollin won the Channel Island Golf Championships at the Royal Jersey Golf Club in Grouville on Sunday.

In the men's competiton, contested over 36 holes, Jersey's amateur golf champion defeated Guernsey's Andrew Eggo 7 and 6.

In the women's event Mollin beat Guernsey's Aimee Pontewho, 13, 6 and 5.

Both Mollin and O'Neill will represent Jersey at the Island Games which begin in Aland on Saturday 27 June.
