Agassi cruises into final in LA
Andre Agassi
Andre Agassi made light work of Juan Ignacio Chela at the Mercedes-Benz Cup to reach his first final of the season.

The top seed broke the Argentine in the seventh game of the first set and raced into a 5-2 lead in the second, closing out a 6-4 6-2 win with an ace.

The Los Angeles event is the American's first after two months out with a sciatic nerve injury in his back.

Agassi will face Luxembourg's Gilles Muller, who beat second-seeded Slovak Dominik Hrbaty 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 6-1.

The unseeded Muller saved two match points in the second set before cruising to victory in the third.

The 35-year-old Agassi has not won a title since his victory in Cincinnati last August.

"It was a big day, coming off two hours of real violent movements and throwing myself at everything I could get my racket on (in the quarter-finals).

"I was really interested to see how I was going to play. To be able to go out there and feel that good and move around against a guy (Chela) that was letting the ball fly was a great feeling for me.

"It gives me a lot of confidence, certainly for the final but as the summer unfolds, just to go out there and bring my game without hesitation."
