Cavaday beaten in girls' quarters
Naomi Cavaday
Cavaday made her senior Wimbledon debut last week
Briton Naomi Cavaday's encouraging run in the Wimbledon girls' singles ended at the quarter-final stage with defeat to Poland's Urszula Radwanska.

The 17-year-old from Kent lost 6-3 6-2 to her 15-year-old opponent, who is 171 places higher in the rankings.

"I'm going in the right direction, I just need to speed it up," said Cavaday, who gave Ai Sugiyama a tough game in the women's singles main draw.

She was Britain's first junior girls quarter-finalist for four years.

Cavaday may now travel to Florida to seek the help of coaching guru Nick Bollettieri.

"He liked the way I play. I may go out there later in the year," she said.

"It's obviously incredibly disappointing to lose," she said. "I thought I had a really good chance.

"The biggest problem was that I served so badly. My first serve was the worst it's been for a long time."

Cavaday also went out of the girls' doubles when she and partner Natasa Zoric, of Serbia, lost 6-4 1-6 7-5 to fourth seeds Sorana-Mihaela Cirstea, of Romania, and Russia's Alexandra Panova.

"I think that I've got an awful long way to go with my game.

"I am playing catch-up to the girls I'm playing against at the moment because I haven't been out there like they have because I've been at school."

Radwanska will meet fourth seed Caroline Wozniacki in the semi-finals after the Dane's win over Japan's Ayumi Morita.
