The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites Help playing audio/video Con (full name - Patrick Cornelius Meehan) was born in Wexford, Ireland and cut his musical teeth on the Dublin pub and bar scene. He started out playing in a Pink Floyd covers band and has changed his style considerably. Con then began to slip original material into their sets if he thought 'the audience were open enough to listen or too pissed to notice'. He moved to the UK in the late 80s and made his way to Suffolk where he's established himself as a regular performer on the local music scene.
Con says his music is best described as 'contemporary acoustic-rock' and there are hints of REM, Crowded House and the Levellers to the style with a Paul Young quality to parts of the vocal. He released his debut album 'Intelligence Under Pressure' in 2003 and is working on the follow-up which is provisionally titled 'Suffolk & Good'. Con had schoolboy trials with Arsenal alongside compatriots Frank Stapleton and David O'Leary. He says injury cut his career short, but he did get four international youth caps for the Republic of Ireland. last updated: 23/04/2008 at 15:32 Have Your SayTell us what you think of Con's work.
