A little hand mirror or hairbrush mirror can widen your baby's world.
Babies are fascinated by their reflection and younger babies think their reflection is another baby.
Say your baby's name as they look in the mirror. This will help your baby figure out, "That's me!"
Most babies make this connection at around 18 to 24 months, but all babies are different.
Point to your baby's nose, eyes, ears, and mouth as they look in the mirror, naming the different parts of the face. This helps your baby make the link between the words they hear and the parts of the face they can see.
It will also help them make the connection between themselves and the baby in the mirror.
Babies often can't recognise themselves in mirrors until they're around 18-24 months.
But despite this they really enjoy playing with their reflection, as they think it's is another baby.
