Christmas is coming, and Jemima is getting ready.

Her lists are complete – even that secret one to Father Christmas - she knows what she’s buying for her friends and family.

But they’re not written with pen and paper – they’re scribed through her Dynavox computer.

By a series of commands, that now come as second nature, she audibly communicates with anyone through voice activation – even that Gent in Red - if he turns up unexpectedly.

Jemima has cerebral palsy, she’s profoundly deaf, and cannot talk like most of us, but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t going to enjoy her own cool Yule. Nothing is further from the truth.

She’s as eager as any other teenager… and so she should be – she even shares a certain distaste for those Yuletide greenies… the Brussel Sprout.

But Christmas is still a very special time for Jemima and her family….
