well i might have to have braces and i don't really know what to think because some people think that they are fine but i have a really good friend called alice and she has braces and she says it really hurts when you get them done. But in the long while you will have straight teeth which is a good thing. But i dont see why people do take the mickey out of people who have braces because there still the same person with braces that all and its wrong to take the mickey out of people who have braces. But the wierd thing is there is this boy in are class and he has braces and he takes the out of alice who has braces but then she takes the mick out of him so its all fair.

I had braces as well and now I have 2 retainas and don't worry ur lisp will go after a while it's not as bad as it might b at 1st

I'm 25 (so quite old for braces I guess!) and have had my braces on for 8 months...which leaves me with 10 to go!! It's a bit of a pain, and there are days when I want to grab a screwdriver and rip them off myself, but I hope it will be worth it in the end! My friends thought it was funny at first (which, in way it was so I can't blame them), bu the way I see it is...in a while I will have a pearly-white Hollywood smile, while their teeth will still be crooked and haggish!

well i love my braces!!! i ave had my braces on for hole 1 year now, and still got them on. all my best m8s have got them on. my cousin, my best m8 nur, my kanki aylin n serra, n all my m8s i dnt want to take them off, i cant they r high fashion n very very cool... and nobody can take the mikey out of me, if they do they no wat there messing wid!!! but i cant sand people that dnt clean there teeth... anyway havn different colours on braceses is totlay cool... even if uve got the str8 brace u can ave the veins coloured(only people who now there braces very well, will ave to not this!!!...) anyway look after your teeth for a healthy smile!!!...

I had to wear two retainers for about a year and was promised permenant braces afterwards. i put up with the retainers even though i couldn't speak very well and was teased in class. After a long year, i couldn't wait to get onto the permenant ones...but i was then given new retainers for a further year. They were so painful, i baisically couldn't speak and eat with them in. Eventually my parents and i decided that it was ridiculous. I stopped on the NHS and am now waiting to see a private orthdontist to see if there are any other possiblities

I wore a head-brace for 5 years. As it say's above no pain, no gain. AND whats a few years out of your life to have perfect teeth. Not that there is anything wrong with imperfections.Nobody is perfect after all.

I have been told by my orthadontist that braces would help my teeth but it is up to me to decide if i should have them or not wot should i do.

I had my braces removed about a year ago and I got invisible retainers after so it wasn't that bad but because I only kept them on for about a year my teeth have kinda got goofy again so I wanna get them done again when i'm older. :-)

Alison when you spoke about having to use those retainers you looked so sad i hope you did use them and that you have a perfect smile i had my brace taken out after 1 year against the orthodontist advice after about 6 months my teeth had gone crooked again so plz dont jepordise your past 18 months

i really think barces are cool and some people do look cute with them! I don't have braces my self but quite a few of my friend's teeth are perfect and yeah...all thanx to braces!

in our school braces our a fasion statement. i've got braces but im getting them off really soon. when i had them first put on people at school where fascinated about them and wanted to know more. i don't know why more people can be like that.

I think there is nothing wrong with braces. My friend has braces and she is lovely and kind. You can have a good laugh with her. It doesn't change the person you are . Only sad people will take the mikey out of you. If they do, just ingore them. they are a waste of space.
