ABOLITION: CAPOERIA By Luis do Patrocinio Abolicao Oxford is a Capoeira group based in Oxford. Capoeira itself is a Brazilian artform created by African slaves, combining martial arts, dance and music. Luis do Patrocinio, known to his students as Luis NegΓ£o, moved to Oxford seven years ago and started Abolicao, which translates as 'abolition'. In his film he gives an insight into what it was like to move to a new country with little grasp of the language or the culture, to eventually making a great success of his Capoeira classes.
