An important word that has featured often in the drama has been efallai' perhaps. This week is no exception so let's take a closer look at the word and the construction which follows it.
Brian says Efallai ei bod hi wedi rhedeg i ffwrdd Perhaps she's run away Efallai dy fod ti'n iawn Efallai bod Agnes wedi mynd â'r plant Perhaps Agnes has taken the children You will have noticed that efallai takes the bod form in the present tense
efallai fy mod i efallai dy fod ti efallai ei fod e/o efallai ei bod hi efallai ein bod ni efallai eich bod chi efallai eu bod nhw
In the past tense the form is Efallai fy mod i wedi
With future and conditional forms efallai is followed by y and the verb form
Efallai y bydda i - Perhaps I'll be Efallai y gwela i - Perhaps I'll see Efallai y dylwn i - Perhaps I ought to Efallai y baswn i - Perhaps I would
With an emphatic clause mai or taw is used
Efallai mai ti sy'n iawn Efallai taw yfory mae hi'n mynd
