The future

Y Dyfodol.The Future.
Bydda iI will be
Byddi diYou will be
Bydd e / hiHe / she will be
Byddwn niWe will be
Byddwch chiYou (plural / formal) will be
Byddan nhwThey will be

Ble byddwch chi yfory?Bydda i yn Abertawe.
Where will you be tomorrow?I'll be in Swansea.

We can also ask in the informal way:

Ble byddi di yfory?

Gobeithio bydd hi'n bwrw glaw.I hope that it will rain.
Gobeithio bydd e'n gweithio.I hope that he'll be working.
Os bydd hi'n braf bydda i'n mynd i lan y môr.If it will be fine I'll go to the seaside.
Os bydd hi'n bwrw glaw byddwn ni'n aros yn y tÅ·. Byddwn ni'n gwylio'r teledu. If it will rain we'll stay in the house. We will watch the television.

  • Notice that we say byddwn ni yn Abertawe, but byddwn ni'n gweithio. Although when speaking we say byddwn ni'n Abertawe we tend to use the 'n before verbs and yn before a place in written Welsh.
