This fake anti-spyware programme deliberately slows down the computer it is running on and displays intrusive pop-up advertising.

The programme also frequently pesters victims to upgrade to a full or premium version. Security companies recommend that PC owners keep anti-virus programs up to date and regularly scan their machine for malware.
