Run DMC In 1986 Run DMC released a landmark single in hip hop - Walk This Way. It was a collaboration with rock giants Aerosmith. Through this collaboration Run DMC became the first hip hop crew to be played on MTV, be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and to have a platinum-selling album.
They also made Adidas "shell toe" trainers one of the most popular choices of footwear of that time.
