The nature of God in Christianity

Christians are . However, they believe that God exists in three persons.

The Trinity is a way of describing the three ways of being God.

The Trinity does not mean that Christians believe there are three gods, rather that God is three and one all at the same time.

Saint Patrick used the shamrock leaf to demonstrate the Trinity. A single shamrock leaf has three parts.

In the , Christians read:

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
— Deuteronomy 6:4

However, at the end of his time on Earth Jesus said:

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
— Matthew 28:19

Christians therefore understand God as one God in three persons.
