Mother

MotherEthel finally abandoned the twins in a forest where they were found and raised by wolves. Their wolf foster father, Lolloping Gait, taught them to forecast the weather from the migration pattern of birds, bring down a gazelle at 40ft from a standing start, and give themselves all over body washes.

When their wolf foster mother, Flea Free Fur, died, they left the pack to return to civilization. Don Bent Paw, the Elder of the Wolves waved them off, refusing thanks for saving them, saying 'Someday and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day comes, accept your rearing as a gift. Good Luck.'

The twins still consider their true family to be the family Canidae - which includes dogs, wolves, jackals and foxes.
