Jack (Mark Womack) tends to keep himself to himself and gives little away, much to the lads' chagrin.
But when his bedsit floods, Nancy (Nina Sosanya) offers him a place to stay, and the two find themselves falling for each other.
Jack's secrets can't stay hidden for long though, and his young son turns up on the doorstep.
Soon, Jack's deep dark past is exposed to the horror of the gang - and to Nancy. They discover that he spent time in prison. He reveals he'd been drink-driving, and crashed his car, killing his daughter in the process.
Nancy accepts that Jack will have to live with this forever, and decides to support him and continue their relationship, convincing him the time has come for him to stop running away.
Meanwhile, Kathy (Eva Pope) is out of her coma, and back home. Harry (Neil Dudgeon) wants nothing to do with Charlie (Hugo Speer) and warns him to stay away from her – or he'll tell Abigail (Josephine Butler) everything. To Roisin's (Maria Doyle Kennedy) dismay, Harry decides to try to give his marriage another go.
Charlie grows weary of being told what to do, and turns up at Harry's house, with Abi in tow. He tells Harry that he'd rather his affair with Kathy was exposed, than live by other people's rules. Harry storms off to see Roisin, but discovers her about to go on holiday with her ex-husband.
