Chris Carnegy
News Hub Lead
Chris helps ensure that our video sharing service makes BBC content available each day to more than 900 partners across the local news sector. He also works in support of other Partnership initiatives.
His career has spanned much of the local broadcast media scene: he’s been a regional TV presenter, a commercial radio entrepreneur and a BBC local radio editor. En route he hosted business programmes for the BBC World Service and read the news for LBC. He managed the scheme that delivered BBC support to the UK’s emerging local-TV sector during its launch phase.
These days, Chris works part-time for us: he keeps busy in the other part of his week with a fascinating volunteer role as UK Representative of Tristan da Cunha , the British Atlantic island that is home to the world’s remotest human settlement, and by helping community and hyper-local radio ventures.
