A British Transport Police (BTP) officer has been charged with two counts of rape.

The charges relate to a time in March last year when Birmingham-based PC Christopher Jenkins, 32, was off duty.

He was set to appear at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday following an investigation by West Mercia Police, the force area of which includes Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire.

BTP said PC Jenkins was suspended from duty on 2 April 2025 "as soon as the force was informed of his arrest".
