Woman in 80s hurt in hit-and-run at zebra crossing

A woman in her 80s has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash at a zebra crossing.

The incident in Sunningdale, Berkshire, happened on Friday at about 16:15 GMT.

Thames Valley Police said the driver of the car did not stop at the scene on the A30 London Road between Bracknell and Ascot.

The make and model of the car involved is not currently known, but may be a small silver vehicle, police added.

Investigating officer PC Anthony Gibson of the Roads Policing Unit said: "This collision has occurred on a pedestrian crossing resulting in serious injuries.

"I am appealing to anybody who witnessed the collision or who may have been driving in the area and has dashcam footage to please get in touch."

The woman remains in hospital with serious injuries.
