Man on trial accused of killing wife who jumped from bridge
BBCA man has gone on trial accused of killing his wife who was run over after jumping from a motorway overpass.
Lee Milne, 39, allegedly threatened, intimidated and followed Kimberley Milne which led to her climbing over a barrier and jumping onto the road below.
The High Court in Glasgow heard Kimberley, 28, was hit by multiple vehicles on the A90 in Dundee on 27 July 2023 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Milne, who faces a second charge of domestic abuse at properties in Dundee between January 2022 and July 2023, denies the charges.
Kimberley was previously known as Kimberley Bruce until the couple's marriage, nine months before her death.
Court papers state that on the day of the incident, Milne drove at speed, performed a handbrake turn, revved the engine of his car, span the wheels and drove erratically with his wife in the car.
It is claimed he then used the vehicle to block her path before he shouted and demanded she get back in the vehicle.
It is alleged Milne acted in an aggressive and intimidating manner towards Kimberley by placing his hands at either side of her head against a wall.
He is then said to have repeatedly shouted at his wife, threw an item against a wall near her, stood over her, seized hold of her and pulled her, caused her distress, fear and alarm, and followed her.
The charge says as a consequence of this, Kimberley climbed the barrier of an overpass and jumped down onto the eastbound A90 Kingsway West and was struck by motor vehicles.
It is lastly claimed he had previously evinced malice and ill will towards her.

On the opening day of the trial the court heard from two of the victim's sisters, Nicky Bruce and Lyndsay Anderson.
Bruce, 28, told the court she didn't know when her sister met Milne but added Kimberley viewed him as her "knight in shining armour".
But she went on to describe their relationship as a "horror story".
Bruce added that she started to hear from her sister less and that Milne had filled her head with "gobbledygook" about her family.
She said: "I didn't see or text her as much. There was a lot of things I think she just wasn't wanting to say to me.
"She was ashamed by what was going on in the relationship."
Bruce added her sister did not want to get married but couldn't leave Milne as he tried to put her in debt.
The witness said her sister, who suffered from mental health issues, had previously attempted to take her life but she would call for help.
Anderson, 42, earlier told prosecutor Alex Prentice KC that she had seen injuries to her younger sister's neck and arm.
Mark Stewart KC, defending, asked the witness if Kimberley would self harm significantly and she replied: "Yes."
The advocate later suggested to Lyndsay that Milne attempted suicide on the Tay Bridge in 2020.
The witness could recall the incident but not the year that it took place.
Anderson also told the court Kimberley met Milne in 2022 and was "besotted" with him.
She also claimed that her sister and Milne fell out the day after they got married.
It was stated that Milne had someone else in the house and she recalled the pair being "on and off" after this.
The trial, before Judge Lady Drummond, continues.
