Crews on the scene of Saffron Walden blaze

At least 20 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a three-storey building in Saffron Walden.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Harlow, Newport, Stansted and Wethersfield as well as Saffron Walden were at the scene in Lime Tree Court.

The alarm was raised at about 15:10 GMT. The roof of the building was damaged and the third floor was heavily smoke-logged.

King Street has been closed and people nearby have been advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
