Man suffers 'significant injuries' after attack in vehicle

A man has been left with "significant injuries" following an assault inside a vehicle in East Lothian.

Police Scotland said the 44-year-old was attacked on Haddington Road in Tranent between 15:45 and 16:00 on Wednesday by a suspect wearing "all black clothing".

The victim was later taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Det con Garry Mauran said inquiries into the incident were ongoing and urged anyone with dashcam footage of the area at the time to share it with officers.
